I’m sticking this one in mechanics, because it’s an inherently mechanical bit of computing design. So apparently my new iBook’s got a motion sensor in it that parks the hard drive’s read head if the laptop gets dropped or jarred.

Someone’s tapped into this, and now, on my desktop, there now sits a new little application that effectively turns my computer into a virtual fluid level. Now I’m impressed.
