There’s been a bit of controversy in the British media of late dealing with the alleged publishing of private diaries kept by Prince Charles concerning his apparent disdain for the oppressive tendencies of the “Chinese regime”.

I’ve got to say that despite my ability to see how the revelation of these personal sentiments are potentially counterproductive in a contemporary dimplomatic context, I’m definitely pleasantly surprised; for a public figure whom I’ve generally considered to be nothing more than a pompous animate effigy representing an antiquated and vestigial institution, it’s encouraging to see some rather conscientious views concerning one of the world’s most currently oppressive national entities. It’s quite a contrast to the general spate of smiley-gladhands political opportunists whose value systems are subject to fluctuations more frequent than the international currency exchange.
